Monoclonal Antibodies

An antibody is a protein (immunoglobulin) created by a type of blood cell known as a B lymphocyte, which is secreted into the bloodstream to neutralize foreign antigens. In this case, it is known as a monoclonal antibody when it comes from a single stem cell, whereas a polyclonal antibody comes from different producer cells (clones).
